Monarch in Flight
Monarch activity begins to wane as September winds down, making these late-season flights especially meaningful as they pause among the flowers before continuing their long migration south.
A remarkable migratory lifespan
Overwintering monarch butterflies live an extraordinary 7–8 months, far longer than summer generations that survive only 2–6 weeks, allowing them to migrate to Mexico in the fall and return north the following spring. (Source: Save Our Monarchs)
