Image Licensing
Image Licensing Overview
Photography has a wonderful ability to tell stories, communicate ideas, and create meaningful connections with the natural world.
At Trogography, we offer opportunities to license selected photographs for editorial, commercial, educational, and other creative uses. Our collection features wildlife, birds, nature, landscapes, and the everyday moments of wonder found through the lens.
Whether you’re a publisher looking for a compelling image, a business developing a creative project, or an educator hoping to bring nature into the classroom, we welcome the opportunity to explore how our photography might support your vision.
Image licensing allows you to use a photograph for an agreed purpose while the copyright remains with its respective owner. Licensing arrangements are tailored to the intended use, including factors such as placement, distribution, duration, and audience.
If you’ve discovered a photograph in our galleries, blog, or fine art print collection that interests you, we’d love to hear about your project.
Commercial Licensing
Trogography photographs can bring the beauty, character, and wonder of the natural world to a wide variety of commercial projects.
We welcome licensing inquiries from businesses, advertising agencies, designers, publishers, and other organizations seeking distinctive nature and wildlife photography.
Potential Commercial Uses
Our photography may be available for projects such as:
- Advertising and marketing campaigns.
- Business websites and digital publications.
- Brochures, catalogs, and promotional materials.
- Corporate presentations and displays.
- Product packaging and merchandise.
- Interior design projects and commercial installations.
Each request is considered individually based on the selected photograph, intended use, and applicable licensing requirements.
Commercial Licensing Arrangements
Commercial licenses generally specify how an image may be used, where it may appear, the duration of the license, and any applicable restrictions.
Licensing fees are determined by the scope of the intended use. Additional considerations may include distribution, audience size, geographic reach, and whether exclusive rights are requested.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, licensing a photograph does not transfer copyright ownership or grant unrestricted use of the image.
We look forward to helping you find photography that complements your project and communicates your creative vision.
Editorial Licensing
Photography can bring depth, context, and visual interest to stories about wildlife, nature, conservation, travel, and the world around us.

Editorial Licensing Arrangements
Editorial licenses generally authorize the use of a photograph in connection with a specific publication, article, or other editorial project.
Licensing terms may address publication format, print circulation, digital distribution, geographic reach, duration of use, and other relevant considerations.
Editorial licenses do not automatically authorize advertising, merchandise, promotional campaigns, or other commercial uses beyond the agreed terms.
Photographer Credit
We appreciate appropriate attribution whenever our photography is published.
Specific credit requirements will be included in the licensing agreement. Unless otherwise agreed, the preferred credit is:

Educational and Nonprofit Licensing
We recognize that educational institutions and nonprofit organizations often operate with limited budgets.
Depending on the nature and scope of the request, we may provide permission without charge, offer reduced licensing fees, or establish an appropriate licensing arrangement.
Each request is evaluated individually, considering the intended use, distribution, audience, and any applicable copyright restrictions.
Noncommercial or nonprofit status does not automatically grant permission to reproduce or distribute copyrighted materials. However, nothing in this policy limits uses permitted by applicable law, including fair use and other lawful exceptions.
Requesting Permission
If you would like to incorporate one of our photographs into an educational, conservation, or nonprofit project, please tell us about your organization, the image you are interested in, and how you plan to use it.
We appreciate opportunities to support projects that encourage learning, conservation, and a deeper connection with nature.
Licensing Terms
Every creative project is different, and we believe image licensing should reflect the specific needs of each use.
Trogography offers licensing arrangements tailored to the selected photograph, intended application, and scope of the project.
Usage Rights
An image license grants permission to use a photograph for the purposes described in the applicable licensing agreement.
Depending on the project, licensing terms may specify:
- Type of use: Editorial, advertising, promotional, educational, or other approved applications.
- Distribution: Print, digital, broadcast, display, or other authorized formats.
- Duration: The period during which the photograph may be used.
- Geographic reach: Local, national, international, or other agreed territories.
- Audience and circulation: The anticipated reach of the publication, campaign, or project.
- Exclusivity: Whether usage rights are exclusive or nonexclusive.
Any use beyond the agreed licensing terms requires additional authorization.
Licensing Fees
Licensing fees vary depending on the photograph and intended use, including distribution, duration, audience, and any requested exclusivity.
We do not publish a fixed licensing price list because each project has its own requirements. Once we understand your intended use, we can discuss an appropriate licensing arrangement.
Copyright Ownership
Licensing a photograph does not transfer ownership of the underlying copyright. Copyright remains with the respective rights holder unless a separate written agreement expressly provides otherwise.
The licensee receives only the usage rights specified in the licensing agreement.
Image Delivery
Approved licensed images are generally supplied as high-resolution digital files suitable for the agreed application.
File format, resolution, color requirements, and delivery arrangements will be determined according to the needs of the project.
License Approval
All licensing arrangements require written authorization before the photograph is reproduced, published, distributed, or otherwise used beyond what applicable law permits.
Payment of an agreed licensing fee does not expand the rights granted under the applicable licensing agreement.
